Re (1) I presume you have converted to negative earth - otherwise you 
may be in for a bunch of problems with the cigar lighter.

I can get you a photo of the cigar lighter on my BJ8, if its of any 
help. My car was LHD (USA) when I bought it (since switched), so it 
should show the right position for a European LHD model.
