Absolutely it was not a negative comment and you're sure right that too much
of it is a waste and a mess. I put a fairly thin bead of it on both sides
of the cork gasket and then put the sender back in place--I saw right away
that the Hylomar spread very freely and as I said last week I fished some out
of
the inline filter several months later in like-new condition. Apparently
there is more in the tank to be dealt with.

I've used Hylomar successfully on both the rocker cover and oil pan plus
several different places on my boat. I think it is a great product and am
glad
it will be back on the shelves.

Best--Michael

Michael I'm sure you'd agree: sometimes.... too much of a good thing...
isn't good.

I'm interpreting your post not as a "negative message" about Hylomar,
bur rather a caution that Hylomar doesn't need to be lathered on... it
works fine in thin doses...

Right?

(If so, it might be worth letting the list know that you weren't trying
to send a "don't use hylomar" message... but rather to use it
sparingly?)

PS.. I've no financial interest in Hylomar, but I do like the stuff and
I'd hate to see it disappear from the general auto supply marketplace.
