As I always understood it, the safety hook assemblies were already on the
bonnet when the car was painted at Jensen's therefore all the pieces were body
colour.

  Rich,

I may have misinterpreted your advice to Patton Dixon - are the clevis pins
and cotter pins for the body colored bonnet safety catches body color? zinc?
Were they assembled on the car when painted?

    Patton,
Bonnet safety catch assemblies are body colour, Bonnet latch pin is zinc
plated, spring is black, wavy W shaped piece is black, sliding bonnet
latch,
spacers, bolts are zinc, mounting plate to body is body colour. Boot
latch,
striker, fastenes, everything are body colour. Prop rods are black, their
mounting washers, clevis pins and split pins are zinc.
