In all fairness to Moss here is their reply about the rotor situation as
mentioned earlier this week..

Their customer relations has improved greatly and is as good as any
companies,
IMHO.

If you have a chance to post a rebuttal, I'd appreciate it, since I'm not on
the Healey list.

Moss Motors sources the Lucas Branded Rotors under the Lucas number from the
Main European Lucas Distributor.

The non-Lucas branded Rotors are sourced through Moss Europe as a non brand
specific product which is normally supplied as an Intermotor manufactured
product. Evidently this non-brand specific part was supplied by Lucas at some
point. Since the cost to us was based on an average cost, not on transaction
cost there was no way to know that the non-branded rotors we were receiving
were in Lucas boxes and no reason to move them to the more expensive average
cost Lucas branded part number.

In this case a customer lucked out and got the same brand under a lower price
point part number. Unlike grocery store chains, we don't re-box generic
products so it was evident the product was exactly the same. Due to average
costing of the supplier, our cost on the non-brand part number was less and
this was passed on to the customer.

I have not had a chance to look, but it is very likely that there is mixed
stock of Lucas and non-Lucas brand products on the shelf so I would not
recommend buying the non-branded number with the intention of getting a Lucas
product for less money. I would also note that our sales staff is not going to
go to the warehouse to specifically pull Lucas only rotors under the
non-branded number.

Moss works hard to ensure that good quality parts are available at a
reasonable price, but just as in any business there can be a few plus and
minus quirks in supply.

All the best
