Get the car appraised by a knowledgeable Brit car appraiser and go from
there, or,
get the "Gold Book" value and add 10-20%. Tell them to hold (fairly)
firm, unless
it's a distress sale. Anyone who knows the circumstances will try to
lowball the bid
(I would ;).
For almost any Healey:
- Basket case (complete): $5-10K
- Rough Driver: $10-15K
- Good driver: $15-25K
- Near-concours/Excellent Driver: $25K-35K
- Concours: $35K+
- Barrett-Jackson Auction: $1M+ ($1.50- after commissions ;)
BJ8s, tri-carb BN7s, (factory) 100Ms add 10-15%.
Location matters ... cars from the middle states apparently go for a
little less than comparable cars on the coasts.
