I forget how I got this nut off. I think it was loose already and I worked a
screw driver between the flat on the nut and the side of the hole and slid
the screw driver sideways. I added a spacer when I put back so that the nut
was flush with the back of the dash. I used a piece of 1/2(?) in. PVC pipe
about 1/8 to 1/4 inches long. There aren't many threads left on the housing
so this length will have to be precise.

3) The choke is fixed to the dash with a big nut on the back of the choke
"sheath" as you call it. You probably can't feel it because on the BJ8 the
choke cable mounting nut is inset into the back of the dash... it is not
flush with the back of the dash but inset into the dash, so you have to feel
around below the dash back surface to feel where it all goes. The inset
makes this nut a complete bastard to tighten properly unless you have a
flare nut socket or some kind of offset box wrench.
