It is true that you have to be subscribed to send or receive healeys
list material, but anyone or anything can go to the healeys list
archives and harvest a ton of email addresses. Even so, I get fewer
spams to this email address than to my other addresses showing up in
the various filters I use. My guess is that the harvesters figure
that an address of an old posting isn't as likely to be a currently
valid address as a recent posting. Unfortunately spam is a cost that
comes with the benefits of email, so far as I can see.
