Hi,

I currently run a global import export customs and transport department for a
high tech companyB and previously for a very large apparel maker and further
back for a hugeB food and bev company.

Maybe because of my volume and experiences, I am a bit skeptical re the term
"free trade".B But trade with Canada ranks among the most difficult for
meB although not in the top 5 list of headache countries I deal with multiple
times a day, 24 x 7.

Mexico, Brazil, India, China, and Russia are my top headache destinations.
Interestingly US inbounds and dealingB with US Customs can be a real PITA for
theB bureaucracy and needless nonsense as well, and even exporting from the
USA isn't easy anymore with all the gov'tB agencies involved acting under the
guise of warning your every move to look forB a terrorist sleeping under every
bed (kind of reminds me of Mccarthyism in some respects in this country).

Let the debates rageB B B B :^)

Oh, I have done quite a few imports and exports of "classic"B cars in "the
good old days" taking advantage of currency strength and weakness.B The
government (and theft) killed that goose-egg as well.

I have shipped items to Canada (Rich) on many occasions without problems
r fees. If you use UPS, there are agents fees to cross the border. I
now that for some items they have been shipped to an address in Buffalo
nd then picked up and taken across the border. If declared as used
ntique car parts there should be none or few problems. Maybe Rich would
ike to jump in on this.
