Ed, Thank you for the link to the tech articles. The diagram showing the BJ 8 carbs with return spring does give me thoughts as to how I could do a similar set up. If I can't get rid of the "drag" in the cables as David suggested, I'll definitely think about using some springs to help the jet tubes return to their "non-choke" position.
