Larry,

The spacers were installed on both the left and right hand sides, making
sure that the spacer extended clear of the outer face of the hub per the
workshop manual instructions.

I wonder if someone has left out the spacer between the bearing and axle
inside the rear hub, this would allow the hub and axle to float in and
out on the bearing and the brake drum rub on the backing plate during
cornering.
