If you are breaking rotors on a regular basis the odds are the distributor
is due for a rebuild.  I would recommend Jeff at Advanced Didtributors
612-804-5543.  He does a ton of Lucas work.  I have personally dealt with
him and I can tell you he is a pleasure to do business with.  He will set
that advance curve any way you want it and keep you original.

Assuming you have points:
If you have a dwell meter run the car at idle and observe the dwell.  rev
the engine and observe the dwell.  A loose shaft will have dwell variations
due to side play.
