Joe,

Gearbox 981 tells me that it's an early BN1 box with the earlier set of 
gears, not interchangeable with gears in boxes after 5145 unless in complete 
sets. The o/d number is for the 28% ratio, and again, with suffix 227 it's 
an early number.
