3/8" OD, 0.035" wall - McMaster Carr (http://www.mscdirect.com) I used 
the 304SS welded tubing for mine, PN 01412311.  There's seamless or 
other materials (1010, 4130, etc).

Remember to round the bottom of the slot to remove the stress riser 
caused by the slotting saw.
