Hi Gergo;  Back in 2005 Michael Salter provided a reference to the original
patent for how the knock off hubs work.  A copy is attached or you can check
it out at the following website:

At that website you should be able to access one of Rudge Whitworth's patents
applicable to detachable road wheels.    There is a patent which describes the
self tightening mechanism.
