Listers,

Not all 100Ms had the bend in the "X" brace. I have examined no less than a
dozen unrestored original factory 100Ms over the past 25 years and I have
even seen where body shops attempted to straighten this bend after front end
damage. As the story goes, the mechanics at Warwick were supposed to undo
the front engine mounts, jack up the engine just enough so that the camshaft
cleared the brace to install it. Obviously it was easier to just bend the
brace, and as I heard the story, it was when Geoff Healey was out of the
shop.

At first blush, this appears to be the real deal. Bottom line... the
louvered bonnet matches the body number and the rest of the numbers all
match!

This car does not look much (a bit more rust in the doglegs) worse that Sara
Frost's Factory M that Lynn Martin at Forever Healeys restored some years
ago and it was a Concours winner at last Conclave in San Diego.

Cheers,

Curt
