Alan's right (of course). And isn't one of the commonest causes of this a
bad connection at the pump (where the fuel line enters)? This happened on my
BT7. I think the thread on the pump body was pretty well shot (another
common thing) and the sealant gloop had dried out. PTFE tape is a good
sealant as long as the surplus doesn't get into the system.

Lin - if the pump's check valve disks are shot, then you will have
this problem....alan
