Simon,

I have used heavy grease to hold things in place during a difficult
assembly process.  I might caution that you need to decide if grease might
be a problem with assembly of parts in this area.  Otherwise, you might try
blue thread locker and let it set before assembly.  Or perhaps just use
rubber cement.
