If the block is original to the car and if the number plate is in place the=
best option would be to sleeve it. Don't allow it to be hot dipped or you =
will loose the number plate. Sleeving will probably be cheaper than buying =
an unknown block and then having to machine it to spec and it will restore =
the bores to the standard dimensions and extend the life of the block indef=
initely.

Good luck to you friend's friend

Thanks Ira

I think he was trying to explore the non-sleeve option first before he went=
down that route. To be honest, I don=92t know if one option is better tha=
n the other.

It should be able to be be sleeved by a competent machine shop if a block i=

A friend of mine is helping a fellow with his 1959 100-6. It sounds like
the existing engine has already been bored pretty much to the maximum, so
his preference is a good used block. Anyone know where best to find one?

Thanks.
