Hello Keith,
The hinge on the picture looks identical to an Ausstin-Healey boot hinge. I=
=20
will check for the exact dimensions this afternoon. The hinges for the=20
Daimler SP250 are different. They are higher, more profiled, even you can=
=20
use the Austin-Healey hinges for the Daimler SP250. I own both type of=20
cars, so I know.
The quality of the aftermarket hinges are different. That could be the=20
reason the AH Spares hinges are more expensive. But I have to say most=20
aftermarket hinges are anyway far inferior in quality of the chrome and=20
very "wavy" compared to original hinges. Best your friend let have the=20
original hinges rechromed. That=C2=B4s what I do.

A friend of mine is working on a Jensen Interceptor, not the well known=20
large coupe's from the late 1960's early 1970's but what is known in Jensen=
=20
circles as the "early Interceptor" from the 1950's based on an adapted=20
Austin platform with a 4ltr Austin engine. It would not be surprising if=20
the Interceptors bonnet hinges are the same as on the boot of one of the=20
big Healey's, as both cars were built by the Jensen factory. Probably a lot=
=20
of common parts were used.
See below:
Alan at Kestrel believes the bonnet hinges on the early Interceptor are Big=
=20
Healey boot hinges, they certainly look the same. SC Parts of Crawley do=20
these relatively cheaply, probably cheaper than trying to rechrome the=20
existing, but what SC parts will never do is check dimensions to ensure=20
they are actually the same as their stock comes from Germany and isn't to=
=20
hand for measuring (AH Spares will measure anything but oddly their price=
=20
for the same hinges is much higher, usually it is the other way around). So=
=20
is there anyone out there with an Austin Healey 3000, or a Daimler=20
Dart/SP250 as S C Parts list the same hinges for both cars, who could check=
=20
the dimensions of the hinges? What i am trying to match is as the photo=20
below.
