I have no data--and, probably, no credibility--but I recall reading 
somewhere the rear mount is located a smidge outboard of the front 
mount.  This, I believe, cants the trunnion end--the point of the 
'A'--towards the front of the car a bit and creates the little bit of 
caster angle our cars have.
