Hi Simon-hope your blood pressure has come down. Yea, parts are parts,=
=0Abut the correct ones are most important. Additionally, anyone mucking=
=0Awith the OD, that doesn't know what they are doing, is trouble. Glad=
=0Ayou are up and running-such a fine Healey it is. Enjoy your manual=0A=
shifts! Hank=0A=0A=09-----------------------------------------From: "Sim=

received a lot of help and advice with regard to the clutch problem=0Ao=
n my MkII BT7 for which, again, many thanks. =0A=0A=09Here=E2=80=99s whe=
re we are:- =0A=0A=091) I replaced both master and slave cylinders and e=
ven converted the=0Aformer to having an adjustable push rod which, merci=
fully, I did not=0Ahave to use. No change. =0A=0A=092) I bled the system=
more times than I=E2=80=99ve hot dinners, as they say.=0ANo change. =0A=
=0A=093) I had the gearbox out and back 3 - or was it 4? =E2=80=93 times=
.=0ACentring that thing to a nanomillimetere if there is such a thing. N=
o=0Achange except to blood pressure. =0A=0A=094) I had fairly fruitless=
discussions with the supplier who assured=0Ame that =E2=80=9CNothing li=
ke this has happened before=E2=80=9D. No comment will=0Abe issued at thi=
s juncture as the lawyers say. =0A=0A=095) I gave up on the new kit and=
decided that the new clutch cover,=0Abeing 10+mm higher in the centre t=
han the old, was the likely culprit.=0A=0A=0A=09It was indeed the culpri=
t. Restoring the old cover cured the problem=0A100%. =0A=0A=096) I=E2=80=
=99d only swapped the clutch in the first place because I had to=0Aremov=
e the gearbox for an overdrive issue. On inspection the old=0Aclutch par=
ts looked pretty good and, while you=E2=80=99re in there=E2=80=A6.. =0A=
=0A=09However, new clutch feels better than the old which is good. =0A=
=0A=097) The supplier refunded me in full thus let me keep the plate and=
=0Abearing for free which was some compensation. =0A=0A=09Lightened flyw=
heel by 14.5% off. Gives a nice feel. Not a huge=0Adifference but more r=
esponsive. I=E2=80=99m pleased with it. =0A=0A=09The overdrive pressure=
issue was solved by an uprated accumulator and=0Aother related bits.=
=0A=0A=09You may recall that the pump would not go back in, despite my=
best=0Aefforts? I thought I must be doing something wrong but gave up i=
n the=0Aend and drove the OD and box up to OD Spares. Dave put in a new=
front=0Acasing as someone =E2=80=93 NOT me =E2=80=93 had used some =E2=
=80=9CPlastic Padding=E2=80=9D=0A(JB Weld?) in the area at the top of th=
e pump=E2=80=99s travel. I presume to=0Areline a scored bore. Anyhow, so=
mehow or other, that stuff prevented=0Amy getting the pump back up the l=
ast few mm. So, in effect, that half=0Aof the OD has been rebuilt. =0A=
=0A=09And it works! =0A=0A=09I=E2=80=99d not had the car on the road unt=
il yesterday as I=E2=80=99d been=0Awaiting for the return of my handbrak=
e from the platers. That=E2=80=99s back=0Ain and looks much better than=
before. I even managed to adjust the=0Ahandbrake cable as, miraculously=
, it was all greased and nothing was=0Ajammed on the threaded rod. =0A=
=0A=09What next? =0A=0A=09Simon =0A=0A=09
