Joe, good luck on your project - it sounds like you have made a good start.
One thing does come to mind based on what happened when I built my 'basket
case' BJ-8.
The body guy insisted the doors and fenders needed substantial work, but
the frame builder said all the panels were fitted and tuned before it left
there (years prior).
It turned out there were slight differences in the hinges. The frame
builder had stamped them with positions, but the car arrived at the body
shop with scrambled hinges. My takeaway is to ensure it all fits before
moving forward.
