Not unusual unfortunately -
It is also a common cause of not being able to easily remove the
rear wheels due to fouling the front of the wheel arch -
There were a lot of springs made some time back (and maybe still)
were the Front - mid point axle location was up
to an inch short!. This produced very interesting steering if only
one spring was replaced on front or rear!
