Curtis-
I recall that the factory recommends starting my Sprite in neutral with the
clutch engaged (foot off pedal). I don't imagine the T-series is any
different, though I haven't started mine yet. In the Sprite, there is a drop
in revs when the pedal is depressed, but it's not near enough to stall the
motor. Perhaps your idle is set too low? (Whether or not it's at the
recommend setting, if it stalls it MUST be too low. Assuming there isn't a
mechanical problem with the clutch, like not disengaging fully.)
