Check out pages 139-140 of the T Series Restoration Guide by Malcolm Green
for mounting the Smiths Radiomobile "Emitron" car radio (series
4100-4102-4200-4202). The diagram shows the radio is supported by two "L"
brackets secured to the inner dash panel on either side of the glove box.
I've looked at many cars and have found the same four bracket holes even
though the cars were never fitted with a radio. Likewise, most original cars
seem to have the "L" brackets but not the other brackets (shown as parts A
and B and the rear bracket) needed to mount the radio (tuner). The outer
dash must be removed to drill the countersunk holes and fit the flat head
machine screws used to mount the brackets. Perhaps this was done by the
dealer as the radio was a dealer installed option. I can only speculate
that the "L" brackets appear to be factory installed. I've never found any
evidence of factory original mounting holes for the amplifier bracket. Good
