Thanks for replies received to date - so it would seem that the reference
books are incorrect - both TCs and early TDs with the 7.25 inch clutch have
a 10 tooth starter and 93 tooth flywheel.
Reply to Charles Hill....both the TC and TD starter motors I have have a
base plate with 3 bolts.
Reply to Bob D......I have a right hand drive TD. The problem with the large
M41G starter is that it is too large to fall through between the chassis and
the exhaust so has to come out upwards and then the steering column gets in
the way. Wouldn't a paper gasket between the starter and the block interfere
with earthing the motor???
