Gerry,

Most likely a nearly dead battery. The battery has enough power to
light the indicator lamp and perhaps run the pump. The pump takes about
2 amps while the head lamps take about 10.

The first step in any electrical problem should always be to make sure
the battery is fully charged. After you know the battery has plenty of
power, then one can go from there.

Fuel pump clicked just ounce when you turned the key off? If there
battery doesn't have enough power to completely energize the fuel pumps
coil, it will click back to the rest position when the key is turned
off.

All indications are a bad or discharged battery.

Regards.
Blake
