Bill,
As Chip stated, the mounting for the temperature sensor is on the rear
of the expansion (or header) tank at the top of the radiator, on the
left hand side. As for getting the sensor and nut through the grommet,
remove the grommet from the firewall, grease the grommet up with Sil
Glide and carefully work the sensor, then the nut through it (it will
stretch enough to go), then reinstall the grommet in the firewall.
