I haven't done it for 20 years, but check with the airlines and their
respective freight divisions. When I shipped my J2 from Denmark to the US
(Minneapolis) I found that with the cost to containerize the car to prevent
damage and theft, the cost of simply pushing the car onto a pallet,
strapping it down, and seeing it at its destination less than a day later
was less expensive and more convenient than the alternatives. In 1987, that
cost was US$2000.

Cheers,
Lew Palmer

Hello, I've been a lurker here for a couple of years. I've enjoyed
reading about the collective ownership experience, especially the problem
solving. The skid marks on the gravel road and all that sort of stuff.

I am reluctantly putting my TC up for sale. I've got a co-worker who is
interested. He lives in Ireland. Can someone help me give him an idea what
the cost is to have the TC shipped from Chicago to Ireland? Your recent
experience or contacts at a shipping company would be appreciated.

Thanks
RickL
