Jim,

My coil over suspension is something I got when the Moss Dynamic Suspension
"fast road" set up could not be delivered. According to the documentation it
is developed by Hawk/NG with involvement of the MG Owners Club. The kit
features the following:

- Bracket and upper arms curving around the spring/damper, replacing the
lever arm damper
- Lower arms replacing standard items
- Spring/gas damper unit with adjustable damping and ride height
- Rose jointed attachments for the anti-roll bar.

The upper bracket bolts on top of the X-member using the standard bolt
pattern. You need to cut off the X-member part outside the thick mounting
plate and weld in a curved plate to make room for the spring. Both upper and
lower arms are mounted using regular bushes, or V8/polyurethane/nylatron. I
used nylatron on the upper arms since this is an extra soft connection which
I thought best to keep as hard as possible. All parts are accurately made
and beatifully finished. They come carefully wrapped in the Sports section
of The Times, providing an accurate indication of the date of manufacture.
Once the set-up is assembled, the springs are easily removed to adjust the
ride height (necessary for me since I lacked a proper tool). Camber is
adjusted on the lower king pin bolt, which slides through slotted holes
using excentric washers. Castor can be adjusted a little by moving shims
back and forth on the upper king pin bolt. I've only driven the car for a
few yards so I don't know how it handles - early experiments wer interrupted
by an angry neighbour who didn't appreciate the noise of the V8! Any
experience from other users welcome.

Bet regards

Frank van Dalen
