On a trip to charleston S.C. from Columbia, S.C. (100 miles more
or less) I had a tire blow out at speed. I was in a 69 B with Pirelli
p4's with tubes inside on my wire wheels. The innertube had melted away
and taken the outersidewalls of the tire with it. interestingly the
innersidewall was ok and i didn't lose control because the sidewall held
up the weight of the car (it was a back tire).
