Just another data point, but I have had tubes inside my radials ever
since I can remember.  My MGB has been to ever state on the Atlantic
coast, plus high speed Interstate cruise from Washington DC to
Flagstaff AZ last summer.  I did get a flat in Tennessee, but that was
because a tube was old, and the valve stem rotted to the point where
it leaked air every time you went over a bump.
