I haven't seen a mk1 facia on the market, but most people who part out an
early B don't even bother to remove them because no one ever needs to replace
one. You should know that MKll instruments and sending units are completely
different in size and spec, so it is not so simple a conversion. Also, the
"safety" dash mounts much closer to the windshield, so the physical part of
the conversion is tough too.
All in all, if you are hooked on the early facia, you should find an early
car. If you get a MK.ll and can't stand the facia, fabricate one of metal or
wood to suit your taste...it will likely be easier than the retro-fit would
be.
