Last night I awoke to a randomly honking horn to find my A in flames! It
looks as it had a little help, we found the remains of some fireworks
around the car. Most of the damage is confined to the passenger
compartment, the engine looks salvagable and the gear shift lever still
seems to work okay. Doors are melted down, windshield & frame gone, all the
instruments toast. Part of my problem is the car is only insured for what I
originally paid for it, and since then I've rebuilt the engine, front
suspension, brakes, the only thing left was to clean up the body work and
paint it. So I'm hoping that the insurance company is kind to me (yeh,
right) and I can replace the major bits at a reasonable price.
Here's a preliminary list of parts I'm going to need -
Both Doors
Hood
All instruments & switchs on the dash
Seats (my frames may have survived)
wiper boxes
Battery cover (looked fairly warped)
Windshield frame & support posts
If anybody out there has any of these bits they would be willing to part
with at a reasonable prices, or hell I'm not proud I'll take donations.
With any luck this makes some sense, didn't sleep much......
