Fred-----> Engine-------> Barney
I'm transplanting an engine from a rusted-out '79 MGB (call it "Fred"), into
a '79 'B' with a good body but bad engine (Barney). Fred has a "lumention"
electronic ignition. Barney I'm not sure about, but it has a red anodized
finned box (amp?) on the fender wall with "RCA" on it. All the other wiring,
including the wiring to the bridge (drive?) resistor next to the coil is
still connected.
I want to remove the ignition wiring with the bad engine from Barney for
future resto. I also want to make sure Fred's ignition is wired correctly in
Barney's body.
Two questions:
1. Is the red ignition box original? If not, who sells this ignition, and
can I get a wiring diagram for the proper installation/attachments?
2. Can I get the same documention for the Lumention system?
I could make my own wiring diagrams, but the car with the lumention system
has some things that don't look right. I don't want to duplicate the DPO's
errors.
