Tyres! Tyres! Tyres!

Here's a new angle on the rubbing tyres subject. I'm about to 
purchase a new set of rear tyres for my 79 Midget (square arches) and 
am wondering what is the maximum width of tyre I can fit without the 
tyres rubbing on the wheel arches.

Anybody out there fitted larger tyres than the standard 145?
