Whilst I know this is a bit late in coming, it might be worth trying (next
time!) Yokohama's 155/70. Their width measurements are always a bit on the
conservative side (a 185 measures up with nearly 195mm of tread!!). The
decreased rolling diameter does affect gearing by a couple of percent but
the roadholding is said to be a surpising improvement due to the stiffer
sidewalls. (that's on a car used for road and sprinting)
