Hmmm...I've got the same problem with my '75 Midget. I've been thinking =
of going with mechanical advance distributor. Any comments there? What =
should I be paying for such a part? From whom?

Hello folks,
Adventures in timing.... I have discovered that my distributor
has *no* vacuum advance - that is - it has it, but it doesn't work.
Also, when trying to get a good time on the engine the timing mark
jumps all over the place +-3 degrees every time the light flashes.=20
It seems to me that this means that i either need a new timing
chain, or a new distributor. Since the vacuum advance definatly
doesn't work, and the centrifugal doesn't seem to be doing much
either i'm thinking i should just sink the $80 for a new distributor.

        Comments???
