On the contrary, the ratings are a government standard and are  _Required_ by
DOT on any tire sold in the US.
I supplied the numbers for exactly that reason, you can compare them to other
tires to see RELATIVE comparisons in handling and tread life. It is only
relative, but it does beat a blind guess, as there is a lot of garbage out
there, and the last thing a LBC owner is going to want is a nice high mileage
tire that doesn't handle, cause you'll be stuck with it for a LONG time...
