I had a 3 synchro overdrive trans installed in my '67 MGB (which has backup
lights; I think the # is 123somthing). The threaded place for the switch
is on the trans with a plug in it, but the internal switch plunger is not
there. I also have not been able to locate a supplier of one. I think this
is harder to get than a vacuum switch for the overdrive relay circuit (and
those are really hard to get...ask me if you want information). I tried
putting a magnet on the remote gearshift locator, and a magnet activated
proximity (sp?) switch. It worked a couple times, but didn't last.
Officially I now fail every PA inspection, but the guy that works on my car
gets all the work, so he lets it slide. This is a real problem for late '67
cars if you want to convert them from non-OD to OD. Who cares though, the
OD is worth the trouble, and why bash out your tunnel to fit a 4 synchro box
in there.
