5-speed spridget conversion.

I am the owner of a '71 midget, and have tried two times unsuccessfully 
to transplant an origional transmission into the car.  I am now looking 
for a 5-speed conversion, however I would like to keep the origional 1275 
engine.  I think some Japaneese models fit.  If anyone has any ideas, or 
knows of a conversion which has been successful, I would appreciate 
hearing from you.
