Hi,
The mid clamp came about to stop the hood rail lifting at speed.
Many non mid clamp MGA owners added a clamp in the middle of the hood.
I suppose it would help you a bit.
Mine doesn't have a clamp, lifts a bit but seals ok.
Do you have a flap running along the entire hood rail that you fold
down over the front of the top screen chrome rail?
Without this water will get in easily and the hood will lift a lot.
I can't remember seeing centre clamps in the parts catalogues
but will check.
