Well, you'll find that out of the X clubs you could join, at least one
will be just right for you and some others clearly won't be
suitable. I have been a member of both sorts and the former is
terrific but the latter is no fun at all.

If you want to go about it scientifically, make a list of the things
about MGs that are important to you (social, restoration, competition,
concours etc) in priority order. Wander along to a club meeting (all
clubs will welcome prospective members) and by listening to the
meeting reports you can make a priority list for that club based on
what you hear.

Join the club with the closest matched list and people you found to be
of like mind.

A car club full of like-minded people is a truly wonderful thing for a
lbc owner. However, a competition person in a
concours/originality-nazi club will not have a good time and will be
looked down upon by all and sundry.

So, take the effort to look around, talk to club members, find a
suitable club. You won't regret it - it will be a wonderful source of
enjoyment and helpful information.
