I retrofitted my 80 B with a 73 B overdrive. I think the earliest overdrive
you can put in you car is a 71 B. The list maybe better at telling you that
but all I had to do is buy the parts for the shifter (the overdrive swith and
cap top to the shifter) and I had to change my speed-o-meter gearing inside
if you want it to read the right speed. I sent mine out to have done.
The only other thing you need is an overdrive drive shaft. And just swap
tranny's and you are done. Much nicer to drive on the highway...
Oh I for got the overdrive needs power, I took mine from the fuse box.
