I've used a similar product on small parts after beadblasting-
hood latches, door hinges, brackets, etc. and it adheres much
better than, say, a spray bum of grey lacquer primer.
The can says it is compatible with any primer-surfacer, and that
you could even prime an entire vehicle with it. At $11 a can,
this seems like a pricey alternative.
The stuff is available at body-shop supply houses under various
brand names- Mar-Hyde is the brand I've used. It is a single stage
product, and among the squillion warnings printed on the can are
that it requires the use of a serious respirator and is not to be
sold-to or used-by Joe-Q-Public; but most of the stuff I buy there
carries that last warning. I once got a good snoot full of the
stuff after removing my mask- it is *noxious* stuff. Use it with
caution.
