I had trouble getting the nylon washer out also. I ended up using a dremel tool
with a long drill bit to drill two holes opposite each other so i could use snap
ring pliers to grip. I was able to get enough side force to extract the washer.
It wasn't very happy about coming out of there.

The restoration book 'Guide to purchase & D.I.Y. restoration of the MGB' by
Lindsay Porter has a section on rebuilding the dual circuit master cylinder.
Lots of good pictures. The recommendation is to use an ice pick to carefully
make holes in the nylon washer until it can be removed. I've tried this
method twice and was only successful once. On the unsuccesfulI rebuild I
ended up scoring the piston with the ice pick. I bought a rebuilt unit that
time.
Good luck.
