Carbies are easy to tell.  A carbs will have a float bowl that is
attached to the carb body with a fairly thick arm.  This is because
the fuel flow goes through the arm.  B carbs have either a visible
hose linking the float bowl and the jet (the HS4 variety) or the float
bowl is completely integrated into the carb body (the HIF variety).
I'll bet that you have an early B engine with HS4 carbs and probably
(as suggested by Larry) K & N or even Stellings & Hellings chrome air
filters.
