Hello Glenn: Regarding the steering column - '68 and into '69 is the only 'run' of cars that had a smaller diameter shaft. Why is a good question, as they're the same from introduction to mid-'68, then from the '70 model year on?? BTW, my roadster was manufactured 12/68. Hope this is helpful.
