Without having seen the Bentley on the front of this month's
British Car can I then assume that the digits & letters are of
the original British license plate issue?

Generally these were either white or silver and approx 3.5"
high. They were applied to the license plate by each digit &
letter having short posts mounted to the rear, these posts
then passed through punched holes on the license plate and were
then retained with a spire nut type clip.

Though within the same time period it was possible to have
pressed aluminium plates.

The mentioned digits/letters and pressed plates are still
available via specialist suppliers as they add a final touch
to classic and vintage LBC's.
