NEW YORK (CNN) - The FBI Monday dismissed media speculation about a car part
which floated up on the New Jersey shore after the crash of TWA Flight 800.
FBI Assistant
Director James Kallstrom said the FBI has identified the individual part as
a carburetor from a 1977 MGB but will not release any other information
concerning the car part - and that it probably has no connection to the
investigation.

Investigators have also shown a piece of metal with the printed name "Lucas"
found in the wreckage. Although it has not been linked to any particular
passenger or cargo on the aircraft Pierre Sallinger is seeking additional
information concering this wreckage.
